We’re so excited to share our newest addition to the xylophone library: “Remember Me”, from the beloved Pixar movie Coco. This touching melody is not only a favorite among kids and parents alike, but it’s also a beautiful way to introduce an important musical concept — the sharp note.

Why We Chose This Song
“Remember Me” is gentle, emotional, and instantly recognizable — perfect for helping kids connect emotionally with music while learning something new. It has a slow, singable pace that makes it great for beginners, but with just enough of a twist to keep things interesting: an F#.
This is the first time we’re using a sharp note in our beginner-friendly collection, and we love how naturally it fits into the melody without overwhelming young players.
How to Work on This Song With Your Child or Students
🎵 Start by listening together.
Watch the scene from Coco or listen to the track with your child. Talk about how the music makes them feel. Music is more than notes—it’s connection and emotion.
🎵 Point out the special note.
Let them know there’s one “surprise” note in the song: F#. If your xylophone uses color coding, point to the F# key and play it a few times alone, just for fun.
🎵 Play in small phrases.
Break the song into two or three short sections. Practice slowly and let them hear how the sharp note fits beautifully into the melody.
🎵 Sing and play together.
Encourage singing while playing — it helps with memory and pitch recognition. Plus, it makes learning more joyful and immersive.
Wait, What’s a Sharp Note Again?
A sharp note is just a note that’s a little bit higher in pitch than the regular one. In this case, F# is the note between F and G. Think of it as a tiny musical step up.
On the xylophone, sharp notes are usually the black keys — just like on a piano. They might feel a bit mysterious at first, but they open up a whole new world of sound.
“Remember Me” is the perfect introduction because it includes just one sharp, in a natural and musical way that kids can really feel.
